📜 History
Sic Bo means roughly “dice pair” in Chinese and is one of the oldest dice games in the world. It has been played in China for centuries.
Chinese immigrants brought the game to North America and the rest of the world. Today it is a fixture of Asian casinos.
🌍 Where popular today
Sic Bo is extremely popular in the casinos of Macau and across East Asia, standing alongside baccarat there.
In the West it is rarer, but increasingly available online. Live-dealer versions have opened the game to a wider audience.
🎯 Rules
Three dice are rolled at once. You bet on what result they will produce together.
Simple bets are “Small” (total 4–10) and “Big” (total 11–17). Both lose on a triple.
📊 Odds & maths
The Small and Big bets pay 1:1 and carry a house edge of around 2.78%, because triples make these bets lose.
A specific triple pays very high (often 150:1 or more) but only hits on 1 of 216 rolls — the house edge here is much higher.
